Description

Crunchy dill pickles can make a great side to a sandwich, but have you ever tried dill pickles for a snack? Level up your child’s next afternoon snack by preparing this crunchy dill pickled popcorn.

Popcorn is a whole grain snack. It naturally supplies fiber and micronutrients, providing sustained energy for completing homework or getting you through the rest of your workday. Try pairing this popcorn snack with the real dill pickles to get a boost of veggies in your day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup popcorn, unpopped
  • pickle juice out of a pickle jar
  • 1 1/2 tsp dill
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Place dill, garlic powder, onion powder and salt in a small bowl and mix well.
  2. Pour pickle juice into a spray bottle.
  3. Air pop your popcorn.
  4. Spritz the popped popcorn with pickle juice and sprinkle the seasoning over it. Do this quickly- if the liquid dries, the spices will not stick to the popcorn.

Enjoy!
